Re: Who do we want as manager?
How are South Shields able to attract such backers when the best we can do is PW.......oh yes....I forgot....Jason was only prepared to deal with PW or similar for some unknown reason. Could it be a back handed sweetner...... :?: :?: :?:
Perhaps South Shields' previous owner wasn't wanting ...

Re: Bash at the Bay
What they are good at is hosting private parties and corporate events - which they should continue to focus on.
They screwed that up last year when they cancelled loads of events at the last minute and as far as I'm aware, kept the money. Even telling one person they were in administration, a ...

Re: Club Statement
The receptionist is probably worth keeping because the club is open anyway, for example, players having physiotherapy etcetera. But, they could then also cover the shop. Even have the reception in the shop on non-match days?
But there are other staff who could open up, deal with the alarm, etc ...

Re: Time for change of direction?
Never understood the covid thing. Why was it good luck for us to play in front of empty stands and not for any other clubs? Liverpool won* the league in front of empty stands but it is aways claimed that their fans make a difference? Makes no sense to me at all.

Re: Club Statement
Commitment to FT is a big plus for me. They need to throw everything into next season to get an immediate return to the NL. 20 professionals, no passengers and a few academy lads given a chance. It all hinges on getting a decent manager though.
I don't think that's feasible. Not only would it ...

Re: Realistically. Who do we look at keeping?
None of them are going to want to drop in to the NLN and the club won't be able to afford their wages if they did.
I don't think the reality of the situation has hit home for many fans yet, i expect a summer worse than last year and i'll be shocked if we still have a club next season.
Nail on ...

Re: Shrimps Trust meeting with PWs
I've been saying for years that the real damage was done by PMG and MD upon the move to Westgate. We never recovered from the mistakes they made. Subsequent owners have been hamstrung by the historic losses/debts/loans that PMG and MD caused.

Re: Positives from Today?
He could have concluded the deal months earlier, giving everyone a chance.
Not that I want to defend Jason, but how much of the delay was down to him? We know PW spent months messing about with Sarbjot, and then months to satisfy the fit & proper test.
We may never know what caused the ...

The only crumb of comfort for me was my ourbusrt at the end of the game directed at our incompetant CEO when I told him that he was to blame for the mess we are in and to get out of our club. Sorry I over upset some fans around me but i felt it was about time he knew of my thoughts.

Re: Winding up order
We're back to wondering whether we'll even have a club for next season. If we're desperately now for ST sales to pay current wages and bills, what happens next month, May, June and July with no income but still have the wages to pay, overheads to pay, loans/debts to service, etc?? Even if they sell ...

for me, its more a case of all the Money Ash got to play with and he got it badly wrong.
You can forgive him for the signings in those first few days when we didn't have a team and just needed some "bodies" to put on the pitch, but you can't forgive him acting like a kid in a sweetshop for the ...

That would be a valiant effort and from that I would say perhaps tie Jim here another year.
Personally, I think Jim has already earned the right to be offered another year as manager as he's completely changed the team in just a few weeks and we're now a competitive/disciplined and organised ...

Maybe the new COO is the organ grinder and not the monkey? I.e. perhaps he represents where the money is coming from and Mosi/PW etc are just the people they've put in to "run" the company behind a smokescreen. After all, all those millions defrauded is sat in a bank account somewhere. Maybe those ...

Re: do a poll ( i dont know how )
I am certainly on the fence right now. Don't trust PW or like the way things are going. However, weve had dodgy owners for a long time and not supporting the club I love doesn't feel quite right.
Yes, dodgy owners in the past, but at least we knew Jason and Colin only bought the club to make a ...

I think there'll be a NAPM by the back door really when it comes to season ticket renewals. None of the fans I know will be renewing this year and neither will my son nor I. Most people have had enough. We've already stopped buying pies and drinks from the counters as the quality of the pies is now ...

No plan. They spent 18-months planning to buy the club. It appears this was spent making sure they would pass the EFL checks rather than building a plan to make the club successful.
Longer than that. More like 3 years since Sarbjot appeared. There must have been reasons why it took them so long ...

There are lots of things to be sad about , thats football, fullof ups and downs , the club is obviously doing terribly on the pitch at the moment, but at least there is a club.
For all their faults, Panjab warriors were the only ones that stepped in to save Morecambe FC .
The various fan groups ...

Realistically any fee and wage savings we get for him I expect would simply reduce the £200k shortfall funded by the owners.
Personally, I would swap Azeez for a striker though if the funds could be reinvested. I still don't think our head of recruitment is the right man to back with funds in ...

New Brighton springs to mind, they also lost a rugby club. If it wasn't obvious a year ago, it should be now, that there needs to be a concrete contingency in place by a legitimate group representing the fans for a phoenix club to be created quickly, and it needs to be explicitly understood by ...

Re: Next season
Rumours are that Ash's family were a major part of bank-rolling the club's losses/costs and that has now stopped with him leaving the club. That leaves PW in a perilous position of having to find the money from other shareholders/investors, which is by no means a certainty. There is also the whiff ...

You do wonder what the hell has gone on behind the scenes, the non playing staff used to be all positive even last season when they weren't getting paid and looked like they could loose their jobs they all kept going so what has caused the change in atmosphere. That can't all be down to the manager ...

It was Derek and the old board who messed up the Cole situation.
Now we've a new board and Jimbo back, I think there is a possibility that Jim may be able to persuade him to return on loan to the end of the season.
We're in no position to hold grudges. Yes, he was a twat by going on strike, but he ...
