Re: Bash at the Bay

I wonder what market research was carried out? I hope it is a success, but it feels a bit last-minute for a relatively niche event.

Re: Best squad ever?

Almost ten months since the take-over.

Perhaps it would be useful to do a Youtube video interview with both of our owners, and ask them who they are and what the plan is?

Re: Best squad ever?

The person I am referring to was announced by PW to assist in promoting their club at various levels. I think he made a one off statement and was only seen once on SVs. It was not Gurpreet . Whoever it was introduced by PW but just as,quickly disappeared . I assume that this is the individual with ...

Re: Jim Staying On

At face value, this is excellent news. If they give Jim the freedom, working alongside a manager who everyone wants in place. Some coaching, some scouting and a lot of bridge building.

The interesting thing is, who gets appointed as First Team Manager? I would suspect it will be someone new to ...

Re: Club Statement

For the sustainability side, the owners need to bring in new revenue streams, i.e. make much better use of the land and buildings 7 days per week, get the function room(s) earning their keep. If they can't make them pay on match days alone and can't get enough other bookings, then they need to ...

Re: Time for change of direction?

Why was it good luck for us to play in front of empty stands and not for any other clubs? Liverpool won* the league in front of empty stands but it is aways claimed that their fans make a difference? Makes no sense to me at all.

Re: Club Statement

I have a vague recollection, from a long time ago, (so may not be correct, or things may have changed), but I think the case is once you have been a League club and had segregation, then you have to maintain segregation once in non-League. We therefore may not be able to remove segregation, however ...

Re: Time for change of direction?

The ambition of Derek was a blip in this clubs history.

Derek was the right person, at the right time. We also have a certain amount of good luck, for example, COVID season, in front of empty stadiums.

If we'd had decent ownership, then perhaps we could have taken advantage and consolidated ...

Keith-
It's a number of years since I was in Morecambe so I don't know the availability of land but is there nothing out Hest Bank or Heysham way? Presumably if we leave the Mazuma after liquidation the Christies Trust could still be rolled over to purchase ground under a new club name?

Re: Time for change of direction?

Now that a third relegation is confirmed I wonder if a change of direction is needed. The new owners don’t seem to be football people and their appointment of Ash was a disaster.

Happy 60th Birthday :-(

I spent the afternoon and evening with friends. I studiously avoided any football results, then I could watch the game when I got home. Schrodinger's Relegation ... for those few hours, we were both relegated but not relegated... ...it didn't take long to see the reality!

Can't believe I'm sixty ...
